In folklore these used antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, anodyne, antidote, diuretic sedative agents. triterpenoid saponins the dominant compounds flavonoids, alkaloids, lignans, coumarins, steroids volatile oils have also reported. evaluated antioxidant, cytotoxic, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, hepatoprotectve, anti-inflammatory activities.
